The Lehman College Wayfinding effort drew upon the problem-solving skills of local young people with disabilities, who found getting around its labyrinthine North Bronx campus challenging. "I worked with them to develop a unique side-walk iconography," Slavit says. "One that, when applied to the pavement, would help ease people’s movement over stretches of pathway that were especially difficult to navigate."
